Disability in Religion and in the Wider World TBA Unitarian Universalist Church of Reading, Reading, Massachusetts
Impairment is often portrayed in religious contexts as the reification of evil. But there are more progressive representations; a close reading of the Book of Psalms for example evinces this. Join disabled writer, scholar-activist, and educator Aymon Langlois as he presents a preliminary survey of instantiations of disability representation across faith traditions. After synthesising these, he’ll talk briefly about different ways that disability has been thought about in the wider world.
